After the Stone Burier comes the Red Rolly Thing
The road to a perfect pitch can’t be rushed. It takes time, investment, and patience. Putting in the effort at the beginning will pay off in the long run. If you spend time working the soil where you will be placing your pitch, you will have lower maintenance costs in the long run.
If you’ve already read our blog on our stone burier, you’ll know how to get rid of those pesky hard lumps of rock. What the Stone Burier doesn’t do is condition your soil to make it ready for your grass seed. And that’s where the Red Rolly Thing comes in.
Don’t worry, our marketing team hasn’t lost the plot. That’s actually what we call it because it’s red and it rolls. As for the thing, we just wanted it to have a three-barrelled name.
How the Red Rolly Thing helps
A bespoke piece of equipment we have designed and built in our fabrication workshop, the Red Rolly Thing, otherwise known as the Finisher, may not look like much but don’t let that deceive you as it truly is a wizard at finishing off your soil.
After you’ve run the stone burier across your ground, you may still have big clumps of earth stuck together, to break these down and get your soil structure into the optimal condition for your grass seed you need it cultivated, crushed, tilled, and turned. That’s exactly what the Red Rolly Thing does. Plus, with the added ability to ameliorate the soil (combining soil with sand) you get the right soil to encourage the right root structure of your grass, ensuring a healthy and resilient pitch to withstand the rigours of your sport.
Is all of this necessary?
The next step?
That’s easy, it’s time to start seeding, and then all you need to do is sit back and watch your grass grow. Although there is the question of what type of grass to sow, there are a few factors to consider here. But we will get into this another time.
If you have a field you want to convert into a sports pitch, or Public Open Space (POS), contact us. After evaluating your ground, we may bring the Red Rolly Thing down for a visit.
